Closing in on # 10,000
Yesterday was the first day that I've had the opportunity to ride on the Dragin Fly since the last tournament, over a month ago. Not only did I get a chance to ride along, but I also got a chance to hook a few fish. Tournament starts tomorrow, it's going to be crazy, we had over 50 bites yesterday. I did some calculations and the Dragin Fly is closing in on billfish # 10,000, over 1000 since Jan. 1.

Excellent bite.......
......has not slowed down. Every day is a little different, some days are better than others, but it's been a long time since we had less than double digits.

El Nino
If El Nino means that we continue having 30+ sailfish bites/day, I'll take it. Really spectacular fishing this year that is showing no signs of slowing down. Not as many marlin as normal, but we had one show up this week, check it out:

marlin yesterday
I get asked all the time what are the best months for marlin.....my reply is that marlin can show up anytime and the only trip that you can seriously target marlin is the overnight trips to the seamounts. With this year's El Nino, we have not seen many marlin, but we got a BIG blue marlin yesterday......after taking turns with that beast, our customers decided they were fine with sailfish.
