Green Season and "Prime" Season at Los Suenos
"Prime" or "Peak" season, December through April, is a myth. That is just when it is the coldest in the USA and the most people want to be in Costa Rica. The Green Season, May-November can be great weather and great fishing and great bargains.

FAD bite still on fire
After a couple of days of slow fishing on day trips, the Dragin Fly loaded up and took off to the FADs for a quick exploratory trip. Danilo and Farley were in search of Danilo's first blue marlin after 15 years of trying. After the overnight trip and the deployment of lines at 6 am, it took about 3 minutes to get his first marlin hooked up. For the day, he ended up catching 11 blue marlin and Farley caught 8, that's right, 19 blue marlin for one day of fishing, two anglers. On the way home today they stopped at a different spot to prospect, catching a grand slam, 2 blue marlin, 1 striped marlin and 2 sails. Although we are completely booked through October, we do have openings in November and December for multi-day trips to the sea mounts/FADs. Total 1 1/2 days of fishing, 21 blue marlin, 1 striped marlin, 2 sails and 1 dorado.
Send us an e mail at info@downeastguideservice.com to talk about the details and build your trip.

Slow couple of days, off to the FADs
After two slow days and just a few dorado and scattered shots at sails, the Dragin Fly is going in search of the big bite. Wish I were going along. Will have a full report in a couple of days.
